WHAT’S ON YOUR MIND?

When I opened Facebook this morning, I read something that was a little scary. It asked me this question: “WHAT’S ON YOUR MIND?” Wow…you don’t want to always know the answer to that. However, it did get me to thinking about some things. If you are a blogger or someone that frequently posts content on social media, (selfies excluded), I have a few questions for you. What is the plan for what you are getting ready to post? In other words, is there a purpose in what you’re writing, if so, what is it?

One of the reasons I ask, is because when I read some posts, I can’t help but wonder why that was even said. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “Stirring Up The Pot”? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think there is anything wrong with a friendly debate on certain issues, I just think we should be careful about what hot buttons we push on social media. I don’t want to be misunderstood, I don’t think there is anything wrong with having some fun and causing people to laugh, in fact, we could use a lot more laughter these days. I guess for me, I’m just tired of personal agendas and so many people that want the world to know that they are right and everyone else is wrong.

I guess blogging and posting on social media is just everyone’s personal opinions about things in life. Maybe I shouldn’t worry about it. Perhaps I’m taking it too serious. However, what if Christians started writing with purpose? I’m not saying that we should all start posting scriptures daily, but what if a certain percentage of our words were intended to bring encouragement and hope to someone?

Before I start a blog, I ask God to help me write something that will help someone that day. There is nothing I enjoy more than to receive an email from somebody that says, something I wrote was a blessing to them. If a few hundred words in a blog can make a difference in someone’s day or outlook, then it’s worth the time spent putting it all together. I have other friends that feel the same way. Just this morning, I read something that a friend of mine posted and I thought to myself, what a great inspiration that will be for someone today. I want to be on a team of game-changers that are making a difference in this crazy world, one post at a time. Would you like to join the team?
