“THERE’S NOTHING WRONG IF YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND”

I’ve heard people say it, I’ve said it, and I’m sure you’ve said it too. “I JUST DON’T UNDERSTAND.” It happens during a hard trial, and after it’s over. It’s usually followed by the hurt of something we’re facing or have faced. It’s after a loss and heartache. Most of all, it’s when something happens that doesn’t make sense, and you’re left standing in the dark with no answers. I’ve been there, more than once.

We are not guaranteed a journey of perfect conditions. There is going to be times of complete confusion, even though you’re serving God. The faith that we are taught to walk by is not just for the things we go through, but it is also for those times we don’t understand. Sometimes the only way you can walk through uncertainty is with faith. That’s how you keep believing even if you’re grieving. The truth is, some things will happen that we will never understand until we reach our Heavenly home. So, don’t let your lack of understanding cause you to feel like something is wrong with you. You will leave this earth with unanswered questions but arrive in Glory with all things revealed.

For everyone that reads this, that is struggling with lack of understanding; I’m going to tell you something you might not have ever been told. There’s nothing wrong if you don’t understand. It’s ok if you’re not ok. God is not offended at your frustration, and don’t let anyone convince you that your faith wasn’t strong enough. I can give you many examples of great people in the Bible that went through things they didn’t understand. Father, why hast Thou forsaken me? Remember who said that? No matter what you have gone through in the past, there’s nothing wrong if you don’t understand.

Trials dark on every hand and we cannot understand
All the ways God will lead us
To the blessed promised land
He will guide us with his eye
And we’ll follow till we die
And we’ll understand it better by and by
