Every Sunday, for the last several weeks, I’ve been requesting prayer on a specific topic. It’s been a blessing to hear from so many people that are not only thankful for the prayers but have also experienced a mighty touch from God. These are not just random needs that are chosen, but I ask God to direct me in something special for that day. Although Sunday is my busiest day of the week, this prayer has become an essential part of what I do. There are so many needs in the body of Christ, and I believe it makes a difference when we join our voices in unity and pray for each other.
I’m going to call this “SUNDAY’S PRAYER.” I’ll post it each Sunday on my social media pages, and also for those of you that have subscribed to my blog through email from my website DENNYLIVINGSTON.COM
With that being said, I would like for you to join me today in a prayer for those who are struggling with anxiety. I realize there are many levels to this subject, and I am no expert, but I have witnessed its severe attack in people’s lives. Like anything else that the enemy will use against us, if it’s not conquered and controlled, it will take over our lives. For many, their anxiety is worrying about something they have been stressing over for some time, and now it has caused them begin dreading every single day. For others, it stems from past events that have created a deep-rooted fear of something terrible is going to happen to them. There are so many different things that cause anxiety, and some that are struggling with it don’t even know where it’s coming from.
No matter what has happened that is the source of it, the bottom line is, anxiety is a “PEACE-INVADER”. You’re not sleeping well, you’re not able to focus or think clearly, you’re having a hard time being around people, and your peace has been invaded. I still believe that God is a healer and He can bring calm to the turbulence in your life. I know this is not something that can easily be fixed, but a touch from God today would be a great start to getting peace back in your life. You may need to follow up with other things that will contribute to making you better, but let the hand of God begin the work right now!!!
This one thing I am sure of; you were meant to live in perfect peace, so do not settle for anything less.
Philippians 4:4-9 (ESV)
4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.
5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand;
6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
9 What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
