Spend some time working on the person you want to be instead of criticizing yourself for the person you aren’t yet. You have plenty of time to fix the areas where you are broken, so stop wasting that time on putting yourself down. Try fighting for the goals you want to reach and quit beating yourself up for what you haven’t accomplished. I’m sure there are people need you, so help produce a better you for them and you.
Here are four ideas I’ve discovered will help:
* Read a book that will give you the tools for improvement.
* Spend some time with someone you trust and look up to so they can help by inspiring and challenging you.
* Do not compare yourself to others. Focus on what you have to do to become better and don’t try to copy something that isn’t who you are.
* Stop seeking the approval of people who are not connected to your story.
