Would you join with me today in praying for those that are struggling with grief? This morning my heart is breaking for so many that are dealing with the loss of a loved one or close friend, and they’re having a difficult time getting over it. There are too many things I’m feeling to write down this morning, but I just know that we need to join collectively and pray for them.
I understand the incredible pain of loss, and yes, there were times I struggled with why God didn’t choose to heal my loved one, but I’ve learned how to trust in God through this pain. As spiritual as we may become, we still live in a house of flesh that is susceptible to many different emotions, and it’s incredibly hard sometimes to deal with all of them.
In Jesus name, I pray today for that person that is grieving and suffering the hurt of loss. Help them learn to trust and lean on your ways and not their own. Give them peace in the pain and remind them of the place you have prepared for us. Strengthen them to continue doing what you have called and gifted them to do. Let them know it’s alright to cry, but we will only cry here on earth because, in Heaven, we will never weep again.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 (ESV)
1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
2 a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
3 a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
There is a time for everything, so don’t forget how to laugh and dance.
