I believe every word that the Bible says. It only has to say it once for it to be the truth. But if there is ever a time when a line in scripture is repeated, I think the writer is making a point of even greater emphasis and instruction. In reading this morning, I found something that the Psalmist David said that was for me, and maybe you too.
Psalms 27:14
Wait for the Lord;
be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for the Lord!
Twice he says, “WAIT ON THE LORD.” All it took was once but reemphasized it the second time. If anyone understood waiting, it was David. He was anointed to be King but had to wait close to twenty-years before he was able to sit on the throne. He is letting us know; you can be gifted, anointed, strong, and passionate, but God’s plan for your life will still require waiting.
-
You’re not weak because you have to wait.
-
You’re not out of the Will of God because you’re waiting.
-
God isn’t making you wait because He’s upset with you.
-
Be careful what decisions you make while you wait.
-
There is a purpose in your patience.
The promises of God will come to pass, and everything He said is going to be fulfilled, just wait and see.
Wait on the Lord – Wait on the Lord.
