Me and my kids are heading back home to Nashville after being in Bristol for several days. Leading two churches can indeed be overwhelming at times, but with the help of the Lord, my family, and the amazing people I am privileged to lead, we are seeing God do some powerful things. It thrills me to be able to report how well things are going in Bristol.
After my dad passed away, and the church voted me in as Senior Pastor, my goal was to carry on what my father started, make sure my mother was taken care of, and then lead the church into revival. I believe dad would be happy with the durability and unity of the church and how well my mother is loved and taken care of by this incredible body of people. In the last few weeks, we have seen several first-time guests come through our doors, and we’ve gained some new members that are a great addition to our congregation.
We still have a lot of work to do, but Soul’s Harbor is alive and well. Recently, several of the families joined together and surprised me with upgrading the Fellowship Hall, and it looks outstanding!!! There are so many names, and other projects I could mention, but let me just say how proud I am of the way this group of people has remained so steady after such a painful loss.
I give God the glory for providing the strength and endurance for bringing us this far, and I know He will provide the guidance for where we go from here. When it’s all said and done, we can’t ever forget that this is God’s church and He will take care of it. It’s not called by any of our names, it’s the church of Jesus Christ, built on the Rock of Ages, and the gates of Hell cannot prevail against it.
