It is what it is. Just like me, I’m sure you’ve said that before. I can’t change it, I can’t fix it or do anything about it…it just is what it is. Even as a Christian, I find that some things I go through I cannot change it. I’m sure you’ve heard someone say, don’t say you have a headache or don’t say you’re having pain…don’t claim it…don’t speak it. The truth is, if I have a headache, admitting the obvious doesn’t mean I don’t have any faith. Jesus said, “Ask And You Shall Receive.” If I’m not suppose to say it, how do ask for healing. Lord, you know that pain that I’m not saying I have…would you take it? Lord, and that problem that I’m not struggling with, could you help me with it? I know I’m being a little facetious, but let’s face it, for some things in life, it just is what it is.
I’m not saying this to discourage you today, we just need to understand that in this life we’re going to deal with challenges that we will not enjoy. I have personally been healed, but I’ve also had to go and see my doctor and yes, there are certain medications that I have to take. Does that mean I don’t have any faith? Absolutely not. It is what it is. As we age, we all go through certain seasons. Those things cannot be changed. Sometimes we expect things to happen, other times we are hit with the unexpected. Do I lose it when that happens? I do not. It is what it is.
One thing I try to remember as I face different challenges in life. No matter what I’m dealing with, I am still a child of God and I have a promise of life beyond this earth. Nothing I go through here can change that. I refuse to let my pain separate me from God. I am still His no matter how bad the storm is. I am still the apple of His eye even in the midst of this trial. I am still filled with His Spirit and this battle cannot take that away from me. I am still anointed to do His work, no matter how hard things are right now.
Here’s what I’m saying to you today. No matter what you are currently dealing with, it does not change who you are in Jesus. You’re still everything He said you are. You’re still strong, even if you feel weak. You still have purpose, even if you feel unimportant. Your steps are still ordered, even though you feel lost.
This is what we have to understand and believe.

I have been told that before. Don’t speak it. You breath life to it …I understand our words are powerful. But, I know someone that refused to even say , ” I have a cold” silly. The were totally serious. Guess they will never need God to heal them….:)
I have found peace in praying, but also surrendering to God. Thank you for giving your time to post good words. Very helpful
Excellent post. Freeing! So many of the saints have had this understanding, but as the Lord said. You shall know the truth.and the truth will make you free. Bless you Pastor, for sharing these words of truth today. I heard your preaching videos on the web today I enjoyed them so much, as well as the song by the Livingstons (smile). Really enjoyed it. Would it be alright if I shared on FB your preaching and other church events that you may put on the web from time to time? I will not Pastor, without your permission. I really believe your videos will be a blessing to someone who enjoys the word of God. Peace and prayers.
Barbara Stein Thank you for the kind words. You can share anything you read or see on my FB or website.
Thank you so much Pastor Livingston,

My sister sent me your blog this morning On this side of the glass. I lost my 21 year old son 2 years ago this April. I’ve have had periods of faith in knowing God is in total control and ive had many times of doubt wondering WHY, in my heart I trust in the Lord but I just want answers to why. Your post today has given me a peace. Im going to give up struggling with the fact that Im not going to have all the answers. I’m choosing to place my trust in our all knowing savior until the time comes that I will be standing on the other side of the glass. Thank you for your blog
Maria Pelsor
Maria, I want to thank you for emailing me a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been very busy and haven’t had a chance to respond until now. Your testimony truly moved me. I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your son. Parents are not suppose to bury their children…it just isn’t right. I am also moved by your strong faith. I’m sure at times you don’t think you’re being strong, but faith isn’t based on emotions, but rather what we believe and I can tell you’re a believer.
I’m so happy that my blog was a blessing to you. Truthfully, that’s why I started blogging and launched my own web-site. I want to encourage people just like you that have gone through such a difficult storm. We all need to uplifting and I am so glad that something I said did that to you.
God Bless you and thank you again for your email. Please tell your sister I said thank you for sharing my blog with you.
Denny
Awesome Blog, My steps might be that of a toddler (in my case) re-learning to walk with Jesus again but I will get there one step at a time. Thanks God Bless.
