The Bible tells a story of the children on their way to the Promised-land, and they had no water. They began to worry and became afraid for their lives. With no water, it would only be a matter of time before they died. Moses prayed, and God instructed him to hit the rock with a staff that he was carrying, and water would come out. Moses obeyed God, smote the rock, and yes, water began to flow out of that rock.
Exodus 17:6
Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock at Horeb, and you shall strike the rock, and water shall come out of it, and the people will drink.” And Moses did so, in the sight of the elders of Israel.
Water out of a rock??? Of all the ways God could have chosen to bless them, He caused the water to come out of a rock. This means their blessing came from the most unexpected place. Even though Moses knew God would help them, he never expected it to come from a rock.
I trust in God, and I believe He will always make a way, He just doesn’t always tell us where it’s coming from. So today, if you’re in a place where you’re becoming stressed and afraid, this is what I would tell you to do. EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED!!! Something great is getting ready to happen in your life, and you’ll never believe where it’s coming from. A financial blessing is coming, a word of encouragement is on its way, and just like water poured out of that rock for Israel, the same thing is going to happen to you. EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED!!!
