As Christians, we must seek after the holiness of God. Holiness means we are moving away from the carnal things of this world, and we are getting closer to God. When this transformation starts to happen, you will begin to act more like Christ, and less like the world. It will cause you to change many things in your life, from how you treat people and even affect the way you look. The desire for it will actually create a longing inside of you to not only want to be like Jesus but also to please Him.
Any amount of distance you put between you and the world is incredible. You don’t have to go far to rejoice, and whatever you do, don’t compare yourself to others that are on the same journey. Also, don’t worry about how much further you have to go, just be thankful you’re not where you were. Each step you take getting closer to Jesus is a step in the direction of holiness, and that is something you should be proud of. Knowing the closer you get to Him, means you’re becoming more like Him, and that should encourage you to keep going.
You may not be where you want to be today, but celebrate the distance you’ve already come.
