“A NEW DAY”

With each morning starts a brand new day. I love the fact that it’s a new day. I looked up the word new, and the first definition I read was; never existing before. That means this day has never been before now. It might have the same name every seven days, but no day is the same, and God made it that way. He made the earth to revive through the night and start fresh each day. One of the reasons I love that each day begins new is because of how God compared His mercy to it.

Lamentations 3:22-24 (NKJV)
22 Through the LORD’S mercies, we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.
24 “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”

God’s mercy is set on a timer like each day that we live. No day starts with something held over from the one before, and neither does God’s mercy. It’s fresh every single day. So if this day is new, and God’s mercy is new, then thank Him for His mercy, and think like His mercy. No matter what you did yesterday, He can only see you through the lens of mercy. Don’t make the mistake of bringing up your past on a new day. Quit acting like it’s just another day, when the truth is, it’s a new day.

This is why verse twenty-three say’s God is faithful, which means, mercy’s timer will never malfunction. It cannot break or mess-up. The sun will rise every day, and the moon will take its place at night. Dew will fall every morning because of God’s faithfulness. You went to bed last night knowing that all of these things would happen. So, if you can believe that then know that He is as faithful to the repetition of mercy as He is to the cycle of each day.

So let me encourage you by telling you this; it’s not just another day – IT’S A NEW DAY.
