5 THINGS TO KEEP CHRISTIANS ENCOURAGED

There are a lot of things going on in our Nation and in our world today. I am not going to insert my opinion on certain matters, because there are many opinions that differ. Even Christians don’t agree on every topic. As I see all these things unfolding, there are some things that I have to be reminded of. Jesus told us in John 14:1 Don’t let your heart be troubled. In other words, don’t allow yourself to be overtaken with the fear or worry of whatever may be happening.

I have made a short list that inspires me and also reminds me, that everything is going to be alright.

1. GOD IS IN CONTROL

Psalms 24:1
The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

The earth was made by God and still belongs to Him and He is still in charge. No matter how much evil is raging, it cannot overpower the authority of our God. Face this day and tomorrow knowing that God is in control.

2. GOD’S CHURCH WILL NOT BE DEFEATED

Matthew 16:18
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my CHURCH; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

No matter what is currently happening and no matter how hard God’s people are being attacked…the enemy knows, they can never defeat the church of the living God!!! If you look back through history, the one thing that has stayed victorious has been the church that Jesus built and it will remain strong.

3. POLITICS DOESN’T AFFECT GOD

Daniel 2:21
And he changes the times and the seasons: he removes kings, and sets up kings: he gives wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

As an American, I exercise my right to vote. However, as a Christian, I lean on these words that God spoke to Daniel. No matter who is in office, it will not affect the Will of God. His Kingdom is moving forward there is not a politician or a Supreme Court ruling that can change the sovereignty and authority of God. He has the power to let them in, but make no mistake about it, He has the power to bring them down. Put your trust in God and not in politics.

4. GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF HIS CHILDREN

Psalms 37:25
Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread.

David is the writer of this verse, and as an old man, he left a great and encouraging testimony for all of us. Regardless of what you’re facing, you must believe that God’s Word is true and He promised to take care of His children. Don’t let a current problem keep you from believing that God will provide.

5. EARTH IS TEMPORARY, HEAVEN IS ETERNAL

Romans 8:18
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

We must never forget, that our time here on this earth is only for a season. No matter how much pain or suffering we have to endure, it’s only for a short time and it cannot compare to the glory that will be revealed to us when we enter into that city, God has prepared for His people. Whether you, or someone you love, are going through a difficult trial, just remember, this is not our final destination. Keep your head up and your eyes toward the clouds, because any minute, God could return to take us to our Heavenly home.

Hopefully these five reminders will encourage you with whatever you may be dealing with today. My hope is not in the present, but I must remain faithful to God, because my future rests in Him.
