Today, I have the privilege of writing my 100th blog. I can’t believe I’m already at this number. We launched the website, dennylivingston.com back in December and have worked hard to provide positive content for people to hear, see and read. From the first blog, to this one, I’ve had one goal in mind and that is to encourage, inspire and challenge people with the Word of God and with relevant topics.
As a preacher, for years, when I would pray before my sermon, I would always ask the Lord to anoint and help me to encourage, inspire and challenge someone with what I was getting ready to speak on. I prayed that prayer for years, so when we were getting ready to launch my website, I was asked, “What is the message you want your website to convey?”. I remembered the prayer I had prayed all those years and that was my answer. I want to encourage, inspire and challenge people.
After 100 blogs, I still feel the same way. Just last night, I received three emails from people thanking me for the blogs I write and also asking me to pray for them. Pastors, church members, business people and even students have said some very kind things to me about my blogs and that encourages me to keep writing. There have been times that I thought my blogs weren’t really helping anyone and maybe I should just stop. It’s in those moments, someone will email me about how something I had written helped them and how on time it was. It’s then I realized that this part of my ministry was subject to the law of the harvest. There’s a time to sow and a time to reap. The Apostle Paul explains it so well in this passage.
Galatians 6:9
So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
If you’re aware of your season, then you understand that you can’t give up after you’ve started sowing. You know there is going to be a time of waiting, but you wait in expectation. Prepare for the season that is coming and refuse to live in one that has already passed. You have to believe that the time you’ve spent sowing was not in vain. Don’t start regretting your labor in sowing just because you haven’t seen all the fruits of your labor yet. There is no such thing as wasted time when you’re doing what God has called and gifted you to do.
I am just one voice among many, but I believe I have something to say. I’m still in a sowing season, but I know, in time, God will allow me to reach a lot more people. After 100 blogs, the message is still the same and I believe there are a lot of people who need to be encouraged, inspired and challenged. Whether it’s in a sermon, a song, or a blog, I’m committed to being a positive voice in a negative world. The hurting and discouraged must not go unnoticed. It’s not easy to survive today with all the difficulties around us, but if I can encourage someone to keep going and not give up, for me, it’s worth all the effort my team and I go through just to get this message out.
In the last 100 blogs, I’ve tried to cover a lot of relevant topics I believe will help people. One of the most popular blogs was called “CHRISTIAN BULLIES”. This was about a young person being bullied by her Christian friends because she didn’t do everything they thought she should. That struck a note with a lot of people and encouraged many of them that were dealing with the same thing. I write about marriage, leadership, recovery, discipleship, self-help and Biblical topics too. I would love to hear from you, the reader. If there is a particular topic that you enjoy reading from my blogs, let me know what it is. Many times, someone will ask me to write about a specific topic or issue and I try my best to do that. If there is something you would like for me to write about, I would love to hear from you. The truth is, all of my effort is for you. It’s to help your ministry, your marriage and your relationship with God.
